Integrated 1" stem cantilever brake cable routing

Hi all, just redoing my brake cables and cant seem to get the front brake cable through the plastic sleeve that is within the stem, feels like the angle is too sharp for the cable to slide through and the cable is therefore running into the back wall of the sleeve.

I have tried a bit of grease and some wd40 but neither worked. The cable is uncut at the moment so has a factory end.

Any tips I could try please.

All sorted now got an old bit of brake cable and forced the lining out, threaded the new cable and popped it back in!

One problem solved, one more to go!
