Insurance question

I still think you shouldn't be continuing that insurance on the bike you have sold, technically the other guys policy is not valid, although it will be up to the insurance companies how to handle it in the event of a claim. If you want to keep your no claims going then either transfer it on to something else or you can suspend the insurance policy until you want to transfer it to something.

I have a car and motorbikes (2 different policies) and my car insurance covers me to ride any bike not owned by me but not hired.

I am assuming you already informed the policy providers you disposed of the bike the policy began on.

They should still allow you to ride other bikes under the third party cover for other bikes part, as that is contingent on you as the rider and the policy being active.

Really best to call them.

Most people sell before buying.

Sounds like, if i have no vehicle then i'm insured for something that doesn't exist so can't be. So I'll call them. Think it's looking like they overlook you cancelling so they don't have to refund
money. Think the owner of any vehicle i want to ride would have to add me to their insurance now, as i do not own a vehicle to insure. But will phone them. Cheers all.

Had to cancel. Was against law to keep policy on bike i don't own , and that has new riders insurance on too. Only way i can ride another bike is if i already have one or they put me on their insurance, or i get 24hours insurance at £20 a shot.We live and learn.
