hi, Araya has a lot of old catalogs still online
https://araya--rinkai-jp.translate....de&_x_tr_hl=eng&_x_tr_pto=wapp&_x_tr_sch=http(i hope this link using google translator helps to avoid Japanese)

The frame looks to me like the steel Araya Muddy Fox bikes from early 1990ties.

Looking at shifters those should be the ones used for Acera and Altus groups in 97-98 and seem to be newer, so it's not all original.
The crank and rear mech. are very low entry level components, not sure if original, but nothing worth to keep.

The Muddy Fox badge at the head tube seems to be partly covered with silver paint, maybe the entire bike was painted once with rattle cans?

I would guess built the same time they (or Toyo) where building for Rocky Mountain etc. Since that a typical Toyo stay join at the top.

I'd trawl the catalogues linked, just because they are really interesting anyway.
