Info on JMC Specialized Hardtail

Of all the videos at the time, Dirt was always my favourite, since finding it on youtube last year i've probably watched it 10 times :? , I think it's the soundtrack that does it for me the most, just takes me back I guess.

Anywho.. The build, didn't 'THE' frame turn up on here a while ago?

EDIT: my bad, that was an FSR fake, the grey matter's getting greyer

To all intents and purposes that looks like 1995 S-Works M2 team frame and obligitory Judy FSX forks. As for rims I'm not sure whay they would be anything other than Spesh Z21 pro's and built most likely on either WI hubs or possibly HUGI's?

Info based purely on what I know about how the bikes were often specced and not on his actual bike though so happy to be corrected.

Bob, the word is replica not fake, come on let's encourage this sort of thing (beginning to wonder if we might all be suffering some sort of mid-life crisis) due to the fond memories and warm fuzzy feeling it evokes. Go for it Barney!

Sorryyyy, really didn't mean 'fake' sounds bad :? it was how it was written when I did a search for a replica

Did anyone win the 15" Sworks on ebay last week then? Unfortunately I was low on funds as I have to build a JMC rep one day: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayIS...PageName=ADME:B:EOIBUAA:GB:1120#ht_500wt_1202

I should be able to remember the full spec. as I worked at NWMTB centre at the time and JMCs bikes were there a lot, and yes I did get to meet the man himself and even built a bike with him!

One of the tell tales on JMCs hardtails were the green gripshift grip and yellow grips (I want to say cut down onza ules?!).
Front hub was a Hugi but I'm not sure if the rear followed suit.
121 Ceramics.
The brakes were the proper Avid's pre- the cheap versions that came as standard on Marin's in the later 90's; Ultimate levers and tri align cantis (red/silver).
75mm silver Azonic shorty and 2.5" Azonic risers.
Pedals were from what I remember some very nice expensive versions of triple traps.

Pretty good pic here:

There are FSX's for sale on here at the moment, and some Tri aligns on US Ebay... they're full red though so would need some polishing!
I've been toying with a full build vs an inspired by build for a while now, either way it would have to be ridden and ridden as intended. Would love to do a couple of 4x rounds on a JMC rep!

Haven't you got funds from the LTS sale as well :)

I have :)

I sold my Zaskar LE frame too which has paid the bills, so at least now I have a little bit of money to play with until the next financial crisis!
