Index shifter options

What options are there for 1991-1994 indexed / rapid fire shifters?
If someone doesn’t want to use Shimano and neither ESP
gripshift/Sachs ?


I can’t think of anything apart from Suntour XC Pro Thumb shifters -

I had a pair of the X press shifters on a Specialized crossroads iirc back in my teens.

They were ok, I'm sure others have used them a lot more recently than me and can give you more details than my historic account.

Unfortunately once you exclude those listed you are not left with much choice

Thanks - doesn’t seem to be many options.
Did Sachs do any indexed non grip twist shifters ? Or even any friction thumb shifters - from 1990

No idea, you can get Sturmer archer thumb shifters now in 8 or 9 speed. Or go road shifters on mtb mounts.

The sturmey stuff is Sunrace and perfectly decent

You could always go mad and buy some Proshift

haha!! I know! Proshift stuff is beautifully made but does it work well?
