Firstly mods if this in the wrong section please move for me, thanks.

I'd like to start uploading all of my bike pics to an image hosting website but as there are quite a few available is there anyone better than the rest or are they all very much the same -any recommendations would be appreciated.

I have an a/c on Photobucket but I must say I just don't like it, doesn't seem very user friendly and I hate all of that pop ad nonesense!

Also any pointers on how to upload images from the host to RB would be great.

Seeking the info as I am underway on my first Ti build and would like to share with you all and I have some parts I want to list for sale and having the pics available without trying to attach loads of images to a for sale thread would be fantastic.

Thanks for the help.

Quite a few folks on here use Flickr

Easy to use, easy to create links to your pics to show on the forum too

The free account gives you space for 200 images

There's even a Retrobike Flickr group that you can add your photos to

So I guess it's not frowned upon to not use RB's own gallery? I try and use it but can't find an easy way to show the photos in threads? Maybe I'm just being a moron? I find it much easier linking from Facebook.

Thanks for the replies.

I'll have a look at the recommendations.

Was just wondering about something - how is possible to upload back from the image hoster directly to a thread rather than just coping the web page link?

I use the Windows live photo gallery application, crop and resize the pics and then upload it to Microsoft's Live.com from within the application.
From the Live.com site you can 'view original' and paste the link in the thread with the tags.
It's about 30GB storage, no limits, no max sizes and all free.
It's also handy for sharing documents too.

I actually quite like photobucket.

I take most of my pictures with the phone anyway so use the ap to upload what i want then have my album open on the computer in a second window (the beauty of running a dual screen pc at home!) so i can just use the quick links below the pics in the gallery to get me my pictures 'ready coded'

each to their own, I have never used picasa, flikr or any others as photobucket always suited me despite it not being the simplest to use.
