I'm sorry, but this is getting a bit silly

the flex of the Ti seat post can be felt. on bumps but - unfortunately - while pedaling as well. similar like these parallelogramm suspension seat posts but not as much. ever ridden a ti seat post?

I always respect your views Carsten, but is the flex that you 'feel' in the form of compression along its length or of lateral bending?

And how can you tell the difference between the flexing of the saddle rails that would be there anyway and the flexing of the post that you feel is added?

By comparison. Ride one type of seat pin and then another, change nothing else.

I haven't got a ti post, but I have got a carbon Syncos and I can't tell any difference at all. OK, where there's no sense there's no feeling you can say and no doubt you'd be right, but I think people's 'feelings' are sometimes the result of how many pennies they have invested.

i would have bought it (if i would need one) becuase it is Ti,..and more "special" then the normal alu version, but that's me,..i am a magpie,..i like all shiney bits,..

of course it's not compression, how should that work with a tube? it's lateral bending resulting in backward and forward movement of the saddle. i found it pretty obvious when switching between an Al and a Ti seat post and too much. almost annoying. anyways, here the material makes a difference in how it "feels".

i am not saying those seat posts are worth that money but it's a pretty normal price for a Syncros Ti post in a more common size. sure there's a certain Ti hype but for me it's limited to the frames.

Have to confess to never having tried a Ti post, though as the Xizang has become project total-titanium I'm now actively looking for something nice in that department.

I've found this thread more interesting from a riding characteristics perspective – I recently switched a heavy old alu post for a flighty new carbon one and thought I could feel a difference, but just put it down to variations in arse sensation.

I'm not going to get into the price debate here as I lost the ability to understand how ebay works a long time ago – things just make whatever they make and unfortunately desirable/rare/originally expensive things just seem to make more
