Not a lot of info I am affraid, but here's one that "past through my hands" about 2 years ago
Carbon main tubes with "Bonded/Glued" alloy lugs, seemed nice and light but was too small for me, came with some Bullseye cranks on it

Think Vitus and Alan were made by the same people.
My dad visited the Vitus factory once. He told me he saw some Alan's there too, hidden away. Mind you might have been for testing.
I've got an Alan alloy cyclo crosser, loved it at first, but swapped the fork for steel one. The alloys were too bendy. Still hanging in the attic, but hasn't been used for years. They're beuties though aren't they.

I have seen on past occassions when visiting Stafford that Henry Burtons bike shop has got a complete bike as shown, The bike was retailing I think with XT componentry for about £600.
Over the course of a year with only three visits to the shop the bike was always there. I think people find the looks of the bike worrying, it might still be there now !!!

I've had an Alan carbon cyclocross frame as a commuter for a few years, and loved it. Dutch racer Henny Stamsnijder won CX world championships on them in the 80's.
Mine was built up with the Look adjustable carbon seat post, an upright black slender quill stem and carbon flat bar. Grip shift, Ritchey canti's 7 levers plus 36-48 by 12-28 CX gears. I can attest to the bendy aluminium forks mentioned above, the front wheel would touch! the downtube under heavy braking. Scary but comfy. I sold it to a friend when I left Holland for a stint in the Middle East 10 years ago, and he still keeps it (for me ;-))
They're Italian made and the bonding technology was pretty well developed. I'm a BFB and it held up well. At leat 4 Alan frames passed through e-bay Germany last year, MTB frames too. Not much interest in them, If there's a reserve they don't sell on the first listing usually.
