It's not very well in this photo, front end damage after it hit a bit of wood that was flying across the motorway at exactly 69mph

Yup, 5 cylinder 2.4 diesel 183 bhp

It does :-(

The D5 being Volvo's version of an inline 5, diesel - not always had the best rep for reliability.

It replaced another inline 5 diesel engine that Volvo "borrowed" from VAG (Audi) in the 850s onwards.

The inline 5 petrols were / are Volvo's own, though, a modular design, meant the same design was used in their I6 and I5 petrol engines.

This is also a fave . I love the sheer engineering skill required in getting 200bhp from an engine thats 40 years old and still gets driven on the road .
