I have an aluminum XC hardtail I built up in a 1/2 assed way as a commuter/XC race bike. Bike never felt right, but after getting frustrated in looking for a replacement classic steel XC hardtail or ridgid I'm thinking about investing in this one to fix its problems.
I got the frame from a guy who had a bunch new in box without stickers. He told me it was designed by the guy who was the original designer for Cove bikes and that it was basically a stiffee. In the box was a pices of paper with the name Kinesis on it so I assume it was built by them.
Its set up for Cantis only, has round tubes and doesn't have the gusset at the head tube that I've seen on Stiffee FR's when I Googled. Does anyone know where I could find out when the frame was built and who for?
