identifying a dynatech possibly ex team skene?

as i posted earlier it looks like a 2060 frame, and seeing as it seems like the original decals, then can only be a Dyna-tech Mission frame.

still the best £31 I've seen spent on a bike in a while - what condition were the mag-21s in?

k

there's no air in them and i dont have a pump that's suited, but externally they seem sound. couple of bubbly bits in the paintwork, but the bolts are all in good nick.

the USE seatpost was a wreck. i'm in the process of polishing it into some kind of life at the moment

the paint scheme kinda says this....

i'm trying to get the BB out at the mo. the M730 chainset looked like they might be original though

captain nitromors has come to town and brought the front lug up very similar to that...

a bright light has brought up some evidence of writing on the top tube - i cant make out what it says though

ok - from what i can make out of the decals that have been rattlecanned over, emblazoned along the top tube are the words "don skene cycles"

i remember don skene, they had a team during the mid 90s didnt they?

it's also a local shop to the area i picked the bike up in

right

email to raleigh drew a blank so i'm going to move on from trying to find out what it is, to the all important question of what to do with it

it's a bit battered for an MTB (the headtube is a touch loose at the bottom, one of the bottle bosses is loose, dent in the seatube right around where you'd clamp a front mech) so my thoughts were along the lines of ultra-cool pub bike. Rigid forks, VERY dark blue front lug and rear triangle, baby-blue main tubes, suilt up SS using the M730 XT cranks i got with it, some odd wheels from my garage, rigid forks (think i've got some long enough somewhere). polished USE seatpost, polished stem, most important of all, chunky skinwall slicks.

Hi,

Never actually posted before, but came across this post and made chuckle.

I used to ride for Don Skene Cycles, or Team Skene as it is now from about '93 to '96 ish. One of the guys used to ride a massive Dyna Tech in black, so can only assume this is the one. the timeline fits, as we used to have Done Skene Cycles stickers before we changed them to Team Skene ones.

I do have a picture, but it's a group picture of 4 of us but the Dyna Tech is face on so you can only see about half a head tube and the forks.

I see this post is old, but if you're still building it, post a pic!

Thanks,

i sold this frame a while back, but the guy i sold it to posts here very occasionally. if you do have a pic, that'd be pretty cool!

Sorry, no luck on the picture front.

The only pic I have is such an obscure angle that you can't see anything of the bike. You can only see a bit of headtube and the wishbone rear stay if you look hard enough!

I don't have a scanner, so this is a picture taken from my mobile of the photograph. Not sure how it will look posted as the quality is pretty poor...

Cheers,

The pic is too big, so will try and resize it and post again.

Hi.
I have a Mission from 90/91, Dynatech/2070 decals, in standard black and silver, so i just popped out and checked the rear hanger section.
My bike differs slightly from the one pictured here.
the lug placement looks slightly different, and with my bike the small triangle bitty (what IS that called?) is deffo smaller.

I'll take a couple of snaps and try to upload here. (new to all this)
Regards,
Tne

It could just be the angle the pic has been taken but it looks slightly different from here.
Any other pics just ask.
