Got a pair of Mavic hubbed wheels. Well 2 rears, 28 and 32 spokes. Freewheel pattern.
The hubs have the Mavic logo in a recessed panel in line with the axle . They have what I assume to be bearings held in with some sort of cover which has 6 small holes in, I asume to be moved with either circlip pliers or a special driver. The axle is smooth at either end, not threaded like a normal hollow axle. The lock nuts are threaded but outside of them is a spinning collar that doesn't want to come off.
Crap description I know and a pic isn't forthcoming.
Any idea what the hubs might be?

like this....?

Pretty well. The ones in the clip look differnt to those in the pic. Are they?
Mine don't have the black stripe as in the clip. Is that a sticker?
If 501's are they of any value or dead cheap and common.

The spinning collar is held on with a tiny circlip. If yours don't have the black stripe then they're 500 or 506 I think. Absolutely worthless and totally rubbish but as I'm feeling kind I'll take them off your hands...

But seriously they are very good hubs with top quality sealed bearings that last forever.

Mark.
