I wonder how much cash has changed hands on this site?

although my first retro purchase wasnt via this site, riding it and the conversations it struck up led me here.....all in it would be over 4k....possibly 5!......blimey!....if my rotting corpse is drilled from the centre of a motorway bridge over the next few weeks, then send this post to the cops....my other half will have read it and put me there..... :?

I have wondered this myself

It could be worked out if you're really bored, I might have to give it a go next time i have an extra quiet night at work

How the hell would you go about working it out? Or do you mean a close approximation?

To surpass 1 million for the site, it only needs every registered user to spend about £20 and a bit.

I think there are probably a solid 50 or so that would have passed a million around

715 pages of for sale threads
50 threads per page
Average sales value per thread @ £25 (sure it's much more but be conservative)

£893,750

Yes a close approximation, take a look through say a medium traffic months worth of for sale threads, see what's been sold mutiply it by 12 etc, the formula needs work as I doubt the sales early on in RB history were anything like there they are now, leave it with me i'll see how bored I get at work tonight

Last 12 months major retrobike spends (major as in the ones I remember)

Ti framed bike £450 ish
RC100 trials £400 ish
RC100 £500 ish
GT Zaskar £300 ish
HED Rims £200 (outed on here in ebay watch)
Add in the probably £500-700 Ive spent on things like cranks and levers etc (tech lite levers, caramba double barrel two sets of turbines and some Cook RSR, EGS upcage and syncroshift stuff)

So an estimated minimum of £2350 in 12 months on retrobike, additional to that is the following unconnected to retrobike.co.uk retro purchases.

Another RC100 £400
Litespeed £700

So Some where in the region of £3.5k in the last 12 months... I feel slightly ill now, thanks!
