i always wonder about this, see alot of stuff, mainly shimano xt (current models) from israel. just seems dodgy to me so i wouldn't buy it but i am curious about if it's legit. :?

We all know that there are a lot of Knocked-off Chris Kings around from China. It wouldn't surprise me if they were now doing XT.
It was reported by the BBC last year that in China there are even counterfeit eggs. You would have thought that the cheapest way to make an egg was a chicken, but no.
Having done business in China for 14 years, I would see making copy-XT as trivial in terms of the difficulty. It might also be scrap bikes from Japan being dismantled and sold for parts.

I find the brand names most amusing, SARS for example was that health scare a few years back, so you get a Severe acute respiratory syndrome branded seatpost or headsets.
Shame the pics in the auctions are so low res, I wouldn't take the plunge based on those.
Edit, sorry you're referring to Shimano etc, chances are they are counterfeit, Israel and China will knock out a copy of absolutely anything.
