I know it is a controversial issue, but surely there is a reasonable level of resistance that must be met before measures like this are taken?

I did think as much. 2 sides and all that.
But a sign of the times is also why theyre protesting. I dont know, i cant be bothered to get sucked into even though as a citizen of the world i should know what is going on.

The way it appears to me,and i mean this in general not just that clip is this.If you dont do exactly what Mr Policeman says them they can arrest you,if you then refuse of become even the slightest bit upset than they seem more than willing to escalate matters.Use of baton,toxic sprays or just a good old shove.
Watched a vid of a policeman pursue an 'intervener' as the guy was walking backwards away from the incident[after being told to leave]they were a good 20' away but the policeman still violently shoved the guy back further.
