I don't want a Trials bike...I don't want a jump bike, I wan

I've just put this together and could fit your requirements, could be built up as light as you like too. The slack head angle with big forks and big tyres give lots of confidence. Lots of standover height and the shorter top tube length and short stem gives a good level of chuckability. The relatively high bars also help.

So I'm thinking I want something small and light, maybe not 26" wheels.
Trials bike...seems a bit to core and anyway, wheres the seat?
Jump bike....too heavy???
What do I want?

Think this meets your criteria. Small and light, not 26" wheeled and a great bike to learn on. Colour scheme has always been one of my favourites!

Ooo i like that 8)
What frame and forks are they if you don't mind me asking?

Why not just try a bike you trust (another M2 would be ideal) a size or two smaller than your normal xc size and put some big fat tyres, long travel forks and a shorter stem/riser bar on it? Drop the saddle a good few inches, get some flats and your away! Hello Harry's Hardcore Hardtail!
