Ive been at a music festival in spain for the past week, great event! However the morning of the day i was due to fly out found me sat in a& e in oxford nursing a painfull wrist/shoulder/face.
One of the chaps I went to spain with came over the night before and bought his bike we decided on a nice gentle ride to get som pub nosh. On the way back however we clipped at speed and both ended up in a mess on the floor.
IHe came off lightly with a grazed knee, my next memory after cranking up the power a bit was being in my flat watching the end of conan the barbarian on TV. (feeling as though I had just gone 3 rounds with arnie my self)
My mate phoned NHS direct, we tried calling a taxi to get me to oxford to get checked over but no one was willing to come out and collect (poor show) ended up going to A&e the following morning. The NHS were fantastic, quick and efficient, I have upmost respect for them. Had fun looking at various xrays of bits of me. Then dropped into work to show off my wounds.
Turns out nothing was broken, just seems to be sprained, but it made an uncomfortable week of camping in tents in hot weather that little bit more uncomfortable. The bike survived (my epic) with the addition of a scratch on the forks I did get the sympathy vote quite a lot, but all in all I would seriously reccomend against high speed face planting prior to a holliday.
Will be needing a new helmet to be on the safe side though!
