My memory of Lincolnshire is that its pancake flat, like really really flat. So even the requirement of a mountain bike is a bit outré, non?

Cambridgeshire is even flatter...

 Aye been there too, very very flat.

I like your style LGF.
I like the way the 1950's see science fiction.
I like 'old style' bike shops with a layer of dust on a set of M737 pedals in the front of the window.. except they don't exist anymore since most bike shops went all 'boutique' :(
I like 80's girls with crooked teeth, a lot of eyeliner and big hair.
Need I go on?
Oh yes, and I love old Saracens!

Luddite sounds like a glue that steadfastly refuses to stick to anything modern

You're thinking of Araluddite. :D

genius! hahahaha

I'm a bit like you fella, modern bikes hold no draw for me, same goes for cars, HIFI etc. Nowt wrong with my Technics MASH system, still belts out CD's through the KEF Coda's like a sonic orgasm. Wish I still had my old NAD stuff though. And yes, 80's girls were gorgeous....

Are now well, hifi. CD's are a flawed method of replaying music, I prefer high quality downloads or vinyl. And I prefer Dolby Digital / DTS multichannel over plain old stereo.

I only object to new cars because there are so many perfectly useable good ones still available for 1 tenth of a new car purchase price.

Same go for bicycles.

Its all the fault of my Gran who hated waste.

Noticed that you're Cannock-based; Bridgtown Cycles used to be rather like that until they moved to their huge new premises, but "Nutty" Russell's in Walsall and Henry Burton's in Stafford are still a bit old-school to some extent.
Not sure if the Parker International warehouse is still open to callers, but they used to be good for a rummage through boxes of obscure NOS bits too....
