Dont assume that because I knock 'new' stuff, I'm a luddite stuck in the past.

I'm not, I just prefer it that way.

When I walk into a bike shop its like sitting in some sort of science fiction novel but...

I dont want a disc brake.

I dont want hydraulics,

I dont want 5" of travel regardless of whether it can be switched out,

I dont want a carbon fibre frame

I dont want my brake lever to be the shifting lever

I dont want suspension corrected geometry

I dont need 27 speeds

I apologise if I come over rough and tumble but I'm tired of the new stuff. I know it exists, I appreciate there are those who must have it. But I'm now old enough and ugly enough to shout about what I like for once.

Luddite sounds like a glue that steadfastly refuses to stick to anything modern

Think I must have a very large tin of it about me

but I dont resist change, I own an iPod, was an early adopter of DVD and Freeview telly, I had Hope discs in '96, got a DSLR and a current mobile phone...?

Its just that I dont want all that chuff on a bicycle

My memory of Lincolnshire is that its pancake flat, like really really flat. So even the requirement of a mountain bike is a bit outré, non?

Are you showing off your mountains kaiser :P
Lincolnshire sounds a lot like the part of Cheshire i live in :(
