Hub spacing

I want to use a wheel with a 126mm 7speed rx100 hub in a frame spaced 135mm.

I have axles and a couple of 8 speed freehubs. If I put an 8/9 speed freehub on it and a 135mm axle, will I get away without redishing?

I am staying with 7 speed because that is what the shifters are (3x7 sti) so I could respace the axle, leave the 7 speed freehub on and redish. But this means a paying trip to the LBS!

you might have to get funky with the spacers to get away without redishing - the extra 9mm needs to be split equally between the two sides, but if you're also switching to an 8 speed freehub, that should take up most of what you need on the drive side.

Its very easy to do yourself. Beer, a comfy seat, beer, cone spanner, beer, grease, beer, spacers, beer and lots of rags and it can be done.

Dont forget the beer.
