How to repair your car with nylon zip-ties

This video got me thinking...if you have a crack in your frame, why bother spending all the time and money to weld it when you can use this method of making the repair with nylon zip ties.

This time lapse video shows how they use the zip ties almost like a surgeon's stitches to make repairs to their drift cars. Creative to say the least.

It's all a bit trendy . The panel is fibreglass so why not just repair it properly with glass ? your already drilling it so why not drill the end of the split to stop it spreading further ?

Was this in one day ? he should spend more time on the track and less time in the wall

Still , serves him right for having something so flimsy and inappropriate .

Most thinks in life can be fixed with zip ties, well not quite zip ties and duck tap will fix every thing.

A mate used to use a zip tie as a belt ( through the front 2 loops ) his reasoning was that a years worth was cheaper than a belt ; he had a habit of putting tools in his back pocket so almost always had something to cut them with .

This has been done for years with the wings (plastic wheel guards) on HGV trailers, maybe not stitching one together that's in a dozzen bits but certainly common to stitch cracks together.

Course it'll be all the rage now the drift crowd are doing it, sales of cable ties in Halfords will go through the roof and the price will go up to £1 each
