How to holiday on no money ?

We were pondering a small holiday a while back, go to the great barrier reef or some such for a few days, was going to cost a pile of money. Thought that was crap (was going to be a nice holiday as in not skimping on accommodation). Decided screw that, same amount of money, we fly and rent a big camper and travel New Zealand for a month. A month! OK doesn't include food, fule expenses, but hell, we leave next Friday, gunna learn to ski

A few years ago, my wife and I spent four days camping on the yorkshire coast with £7 a day spending money.

Biscuits for breakfast, Chips for late lunch/early dinner. Tobacco seriously rationed, and no beer.

We had 80mph winds and it pissed down too.

We still had a good time (well, when I say we....)

Used to collect me Giro, cycle off to Sunny Hunny with me tent and stay until me Giro ran out or it was spent on the machines.

Good times. Cheap too.


Now? Good grief, we just could not afford it with the cost of fuel. Just on comfort alone we dont do camping anymore and being soft shites. Foreign holidays are still much cheaper, especially Greece at the moment.
