how to get from 1 inch quill to 1 1/4 inch ahead

Hello, didn't post much after registering but maybe you can help me out with the following.

Two weeks ago I bought a '96 Klein Aeolus. This bike comes with a 1 inch quill steerer. Since the the frame is way too small for me I'd like to change the original and short ITM stem for a 150mm Control Tech ahead stem.

Problem is that the stem is a 1.1/4 inch ahead stem. Quill to ahead adaptors are available but only to get from 1 inch to 1.1/8 inch.

So, the question; does anyone know a way to get from 1 inch quill to 1 1/4 ahead.

Any suggestions would really help me out. Thanks.

It should not be too difficult or expensive for a machine shop to make a split shim to fit a 1" to 1 1/8" adapter . Cheers

You should be able to get a shim as stated, but would it not be easier to just buy the right size stem? Or at least buy a 1" or 1" 1/8 to make the shim smaller?

I would try and find a better fitting stem as a 1/4" shim is quite thick. Plenty of 1 1/8 aheadstems about. If you do change it for a different stem would be interested in yours as Im searching for a 1 1/4" ahead stem.

I have this for sale it's 1"1/8, I have a 1" shim to go with it also, it's 125mm / 0 degree

That's a fine stem. Nice finish. But too short for me.
I need a 150mm. With the shim coming from Germany in a few days I expect the problem to be fixed.
