How old is this IBIS?

Hello, can someone help me find the year of this old IBIS out?

Under the bottom bracket on the left side and the number 8 on the right side of the number 9, and a letter (or symbol) in a circle next to it.

Shimano dropouts on the frame and fork. Original shoulder strap, etc. ..

I agree, it's either a 1987 or 1988.

Scot Nichol doesn't keep records of when serial numbers were used, I know because I asked him so he'll probably only be able to give you an estimate.

I think it's a 1987 by the far the most told arises only question which model? Here, the trend towards a finished buildings in Japan which is Avion brazing parts got in the U.S.. On the other hand, it has a three-digit part number and some similarities with other Custom Models, but not on the head tube? Anyway, I like it. I have Scott wrote an email about the IBIS page, let's see if he can help me somehow. greetings Daniel
