How many mtb's are used on the rd

I toured on my Hei Hei

Great on road and off,used bontrager team xr0 tyres,brilliant,400g no punctures,but they wear out quick and it's such a waste of a good tyre,but when I occasionally dumped everything and ragged it off road they were worth it,if only they had a hard wearing strip in the middle.

I don't really do the weight weenie thing (much),but light tyres are great,easy uphill and fast accelerating.

I also used a specialised armadillo 26x2.0 jobby,brilliant on road,but weighs a ton and not much use on chalk or mud,or even when there's gravel in the roads.

I only ride MTB, as I can't get on with the riding position of road bikes. I often ride on the road with semi slicks for training purposes.

Other way round with me - I've owned 2 MTBs in recent times, only ever really used them on the road to get to the nearest woods & bridleways, but both are now sold as I didn't like the position and have never got on with flat bars. All my off-road work will be on a CX machine from now on.
