We usually note our resting heart rate etc...mine is 60-61 beats a minute i'm 45. But I just counted my breaths per minute. I no i breath quite slowly compared to my wife, but just wondering how different we are at breathing ? I breath 8 - 9 breaths a minute...that seems not many ? but i have done a lot of special yoga breathing over the years......shame i don't feel healthy

60 is very good, and athletic. The heart is not stressed, and will respond well when demands are made of it. A nominal "Normal" repiration rate is 10-15/min.

Me:
Age = 45
Resting heartrate = 45 to 50 bpm (max = 160, a "big, lazy V8 of a heart" according to the Sports Science researchers at work).
Respiration = 9 - 10 breaths per minute at rest, increasing to 15 to 20 big wheezes when climbing a hill on the bike.

I was gonna say if its only 30 beats per minute while doing that you must have a heart of an elephant......and a co*k to match ? :D :wink: :wink:

My other half used to have to prod me to see if I was still breathing when I was fit in my early 20's when asleep :lol: was 4 shallow breaths per min she told me.
