How long would you wait for an item to arrive

I'm starting to get a bit nervous....I bought a frame off a lad on another bike forum I frequent nearly two weeks ago and not a sausage yet. I tried to pm a few times but they keep bouncing back as his inbox is full. sent an email to the address logged agains the paypal account and no joy there either...no response. I've even Pm'd one of the mod's of the forum asking if there is anyway I can be given his email he registered to the forum with cos it is hidden in his profile.

Now, being I do most of my bike bit buying from the good people of retrobike I am used to paying up and things arrive in a few days, no worries and no hassle.
So, do yo think I am being impatient expecting something within two weeks of paying, cos I dont.....I did the payment as a gift too on paypal

2 weeks and no comms seems a little excessive.

What sort of post count did the guy have?

What was his username? Is he listed as a bad trader on here?

He had a very low post count to be honest. I did a search on him and nothing comes up so I dont think he has frequented here. Interesting that the email logged to the paypal account is registered to an ebay seller account. As we have not had a transaction between us the ebay find a member function wont allow me to view there profile. Also, checked to see if that has anything for sale currently and they dont.

Gifting was probably a bad idea unfortunately, assuming the frame was not cheap and not known to the forum.

Assuming the frame was £100 then it would only have cost you and extra £3.73 to send as not a gift and the receiver would get £100.

Well worth it in that situation.

I wouldn't say two weeks was too long, but it is too long if the other person is not responding to communication.

A quick google of his username shows he is also a member of singletrackworld with a visible email [email protected], I assume you've tried this one?

I didnt think of that, thanks.....

I hear what you say regards the payment...the frame was actually only £35 posted luckily and I only did it as a gift to do the guy a favour...I guess I've learned a lesson there!
