how long is a piece of string, or rather how wide is a tyre?

Well i'm on my second set of non fitting tyres

Befiore I buy anymore that don't fit, Can someone measure the widest point of a 2.1 x 26 tyre when inflated. I'm struggling with the width between the chainstays and a 2.3 deffo don't go in.

It depends how wide your rims are. As I am sure you already know some brands measure up differently. Contis are always narrow in the same size compared to Michelin and so on.

Also depends which 2.1 tyre you buy.

mtb tyres measurements have been undersize for a long time. a schwalbe 2.4in nobby nic actually measures 2.0inch.
