Eeek, 190mile round trip for my explosif, though I sneaked in a visit to the folks who lived about 15miles away to maximise the usefulness of the trip.

up to about a 100 miles round trip.

Bought a bike about five or six years ago off German eBay that the chap wouldn't post. Collection involved:

Drive to Manchester airport
Plane from Manchester to Stuttgart
Train from Stuttgart to Baden-Baden
One hour drive from Baden-Baden to sleepy hillside town

It is the one bike I would never sell (even though I never ride it) because I simply have a ridiculous amount of time and money in it and I would probably cry.

This was about 12 years ago; Retrobike wasn't even a twinkle in John's eye then. Stupidly, I moved back up to Manchester about 3 months later :roll:

Furthest I've been for a bike I'm having would be about 250 all in but have been further as the passenger on a friends quest for retro gold. Think the longest was about 500 miles?

To be honest I'd happily travel to either end of the UK and probably in to Europe for something I reeeaaally wanted.

We did have alovely day in Whitby though and a long walk on the beach at Sandsend
