How do you guys feel about patina?

At least bikes don't come with the 'patina' that some classic cars come with in the shape of rats and mouse nests and all their p!ss and cr@p.
A guy who rode his bike to work every day, got on his bike to go home. A spider egg under the saddle hatched, and he was covered with hundreds of tiny green spiders.
He was already known as Spiderman because of a spider bite on his arm that he refused to get treated until the bite was the size of a baseball.

I've had this discussion a few times over the years regarding cars and cycles....

To me patina is wear and tear or miss matched paint touch ups on a looked after car or bike
I know a lot of people will insist rust is patina and that's where our views differ as rust to me shows neglect or at the very least a lack of care and maintenance.
I love seeing old bikes and cars that have been loved and looked after despite their scrapes and scratches as they tell the story of its life and use.

Sorry if you like rusty bikes folks, but if we were all the same life would be boring as would the conversations

😲I hope he was riding a Roberts

LOL, I had a customer who brought in his new GR 997 911 Turbo and guess what was nesting in the twin air cleaner ducts? A bunch of rats. They ate the wiring harness as well. That was costly.
