How do I clean this?

I have this tabletop which looks lovely, but is DIRTY. I think it's brass.

How do I bring it back to its former glory?

Duraglit, a buffing rag, and loads of elbow grease.

I remember seeing something on a antiques programme once saying not to polish them tho......... years of Patina is worth money apparently :?

no no no, do you never what TV (just buy one) :roll:


soda crystals in the sink and dip as kim n agy always say, very gentle cleaning and works a treat. It will clean out all the engraved bits, then you can polish with some brasso or whatever

It's very interesting, when you clean it a bit.

All of the engraved bits are different colours.

Small cloth ,brasso,work carefully avoiding the coloured sections,do them last of all.
