There never seems to be any posts recently [since i joined ] about marzocchi Z1 or Z2 bombers ,
It seems to be pace pace pace with the odd judy or quadra thrown in for good measure.

I ran a pair of Z2's from 1999 to 2006 before i needed to service them, and that was only because i started jumping on them
Smoothest fork i've ever had,in fact if i was building an other off-road all-rounder ,i'd pick a Z1 Bam
I had a choice when i was picking 1 ,a pace or a bomber,i went the bomber route, others i know picked the pace ,some stayed with rigid and said Bah! Humbug and were killed in freak potholing incidents
Both are damn good forks, but id pick a Z2 cos i know it can take an incredible amount of punishment ,every weekend and the odd weekday for 7 years solid without maintainence
Come on lets hear some praise for an old time classic

I love old bombers too as they were so much better than anything else at the time.

From memory I've got about 20 Marzocchi forks with most being various forms of Z1 and Z2. :D

I had some 2001 Z3's and gave them some stick over the years, never had a single problem. Monsterfatuk has them now. :D

I have a pair of Z1's (B1's ?) on my LTS, 97 ones with the twin disc mounts,
just stripped them to repaint them, fit new seals and oil etc, internals
and stanctions are still mint , brace has been butchered for
tyre clearence though , though BETD do new braces for them.

They were the standard orange when i got them with the bike but were scabby, i
repainted them black but have now done them gold, will get some
new stickers for them soon.

Have a set of 1998 Z3's infront of me, just waiting for the right bike to stick them on, best forks ive ridden

Ive been looking for ages for some original orange Z1`s , Had a set on my Vario and loved them :D

Certainly agree with the fit them and forget them! I've got a pair of bombers, although mine came from a '00 stinky, fitted on my FSR. Have been abused constantly, and they have never seen a spanner or an allen key in that time.
