Well wife still no real work after made redundant from NHS..........i was full time before xmas now only getting part time hours...................so looks like we are gonna have to claim help with rent and coucil tax........... :? bit fed up , i get up every week day at 4.30am and hope i get a call on the days i'm not ment to be in ...........hoping someone is sick or on holiday.............i'm working but not enough......it's a kind of job LIMBO where half of me feels like i'm supporting myself and they other half is gonna feel like a sponga.....(no offence to those not working, but looking for work, been there too)..............fed up, of up and down , up and down, no job security...............we moved from Wales to get more work ,where i at least had forest trails for miles around to ride if i got glum...........rent was cheaper too, moan moan :( :( :(

Some seem to have it easier than others.. we had to (metaphorically speaking) jump through hoops in order to get our claim processed in a decent time (i.e. before the landlord set light to our tenancy agreement)..
Between making the claim and getting the confirmation letter the LHA rates had dropped once and they are set to drop again when the government change the policy...

At least they are stopping the ridiculous part of LHA where, if the rates were higher than your rent, you could keep up to £15 a week of the difference... never saw the sense in that.

Hoping this will be tempory........yeah that thing of keeping 'over the rent' £15 thing....what a CRAZY waste of money !!!!! ...still we pay enough taxes in so sometimes they got a give a bit back we're hoping.

yes its certainly true that some have it easy
i have noticed while the jobs market is dire, a fair few are pulling in decent jobs :? maybe you just notice more that your out of work etc. yourself

On the news this evening the government are going to ensure that nobody is better off on benefits than in work . .

I don't have a laughing smiley big enough to convey the futility of that claim....

no that is ace!
but then they are just going to lower the benefits?
i have to admit when i was on them i just scraped, no luxuries

this was the minimum amount required to live on
so are they now going to give you less than the required minimum to live on?

There are laws regarding such amounts... if the DWP drop their rates, HMRC would have to increase theirs (Working and Child Tax Credits)..
Not much use to folk without kids though :?

many of us will have parents or ourselves that have come from a generation where it feels bad to have state help

I have been unemployed on a few occasion and I have no guilt about benefits at all.

I spend years and years working, paying tax, national insurance and any other tax the goverment can get me on so if I have paid a shed load in..i like to think i'm entitled to a bit for the few weeks I need it

As a tax payer of many years i have no problem accepting top up help if desperate.it's the bordom on the days i'm not working i can't stand !

Yes in stead of increasing the minimum wage, they will just drop benefits !!! what with food prices, petrol prices, traveling costs etc.........being on a low wage is crap...................most people in my age bracket i know who are manual workers, skilled or not were on more money 10-15 years ago.

I used to earn more in the early 90's (similar job) than i do now for a full week !!!!!!!!! and as for any skilled jobs i had in say the last 6 years.....well now those jobs all pay 4-5 grand less for the same job

Stop imigration
make people work for thier dole money
stop benefit cheats
help people who want to work
increase the minimum wage

They can't just drop benefits . . the rate is set at what the law says a person/family need to live.

As the cost of living increases, a cut in benefits would put people at risk and it wouldn't be allowed..

Probably :?
