At one time, Britain was great, that because Britain led the world in most things, especially invention and production, perhaps a good time to have pride in your country, as employed you would be doing your bit for a progressive country. Now, we seem to be a country that believes in selling anything that is of worth, get something going, make it profitable and watch what happens, it gets sold off to the highest bidder, here enter the city of London and what happens there.
When was the last time the government kicked something off that subsequent governments maintained for the future, when was the last time there was investment in the future, for sure each term of office we seem to be investing in short term-ism,results now, not later.
The british worker has been well trained in the expectations of life, the prerequisites everyone to be recognised must have, so if a job stands no chance of a person ever getting what is needed, then people are not going to waste their time, so here enter the foreign worker who has not been trained in what one must have to be anything in Britain. Society created the British worker, Britain after world war two created much of our expectations as after world war two, Britain was moving forward, not stagnating as it is now.
Now as to the government cuts and how they will effect those that they are aimed at and this notion of 'we are all in it together', did anyone see Andrew Neil's tv documentary,
Posh and posher- why public school boys run Britain

Well, as suspected those that create these wondrous policies haven't got a clue, for the cuts will not hit them, so, we are not all in it together, that is just plain bullshit, but the sad thing is, too many are buying it unaware that it might be to their detriment, for those in power are not representative of the majority of the UK voting public. Conservative may be what it always aspired to be, but labour, is not the party of the people anymore, but stupid people still vote for it on principle, because of what it was, not what it is, for labour now, is quite far removed from what it was and the career politicians haven't got a clue what it is like to be one of those they say they represent.
But, cast your mind back, when in your oppinion, in your lifetime, did you think Britain was great ?
Anyway, some very wise words here ;
