House of Looptail - Tires, Real World Feedback....

Retro Guru
Being up in Canada things from the USA cost way more. Never mind shipping... exchance rates can be brutal. And yeah, then add shipping. In 2025, add tariffs...

So before I drop what works out to $240.xx CDN plus shipping and tariffs on two tires (one Deuce, one Snake), I would seriously like to hear from folks actually riding them.

Myself....
Back in 82 to 84 I raced BMX with Comp 2 (20X2.1) up front and a Snake (20x1.95) on the back. LOVED the combo. Then came Comp 3's and that changed everything. Still have an OG pair of Comp 2s BMX (2.215 and 1.95) tires but they are display only at this point.

So to my fellow retro folks... who are riding them....

whats your real world experience with said tires.

Thanks in advance.

Rumour has it they have Tom's blessing to reproduce the Z-Max's.... frak I so so hope so. Would love to see them (or anyone) produce kevlar 1.9 Smoke Lites....

These were dirt/track only tires.

After I wore out the rear I dropped a Snakebelly on the back. Then I added a fresh Comp 2/Z-1 up front....

Switching over to the Comp 3's..... honestly I think it was more a fade thing... in hindsight the Comp 3's never did or gave me anything the Comp 2/Snakebelly combo didn't....

Weird thing I remember....

The yellow and red compound tires were WAY softer than black and other colours.... also wore out way faster as a result.

For park/street/vert I ran blue Comp 2 and Comp 3 tires.

And while on the topic.... there are/were differences between the Comp 2 and Z-1.

IRC tended to be slightly softer compound from what I recall. Comp 2s faired way better for street and every day use.

And as I walk down memory lane....

The Panaracer Timbuk II would be the next tire I fell in love with as a racer/rider after the aforementioned combo.
