Tis a steel frame. I wasn't happy stretching the frame to get the wheel to fit, the force needed and potential for damage to paint ect just not worth it. Couldn't get it to fit anyway.
I was told by some geezers on this site that it was unlikely I could change the axle...so what axle do you suggest?
They are super nice wheels that I am sure someone would go for. If you want to sell, go for it!
But if you want to use them, 2.5 mm on each side isn't that much for a steel frame. If the paint issue was bothering you/wouldn't fit, you could get the frame cold-set by a local frame builder or shop to 135mm. Axles indeed might be tough to find for those hubs. It might be worth trying that route, but if there are any similar axles out there I'd bet 135 would be more common than 130......might be quite a search.
Chainreaction Cycles carries replacement axles for Ti glide hubs, but only 135mm width.
Besides, unless Hope makes a Ti glide road hub, converting an XC hub to road is not really an option since you would also need the appropriate axle cap as well.
