Hope mini Mono brakes: Pad retention pin...

When riding on the road the buzz from my tyres is causing the pad retention pins to rattle causing an annoying buzz.

I noticed on one end of the pin is an O-ring which seems to fit into a little recess where the pi goes through the calliper.

Should I just grease up the o-ring and pop the head of the pin into the recess or is it supposed to 'float' loose for some reason?

Just read the service manual....

Note: lubricate the o-ring on the pad retaining pin before fitting.

Guess that means they are meant to be pushed into the recess then

its not supposed to float loose. the newer calipers have a screw in pin which is noticeably better.

I wonder if I can thread the recess so I can use the newer pins....
