not to much to say really it has the usual scrapes from youraverage riding, it was bled about 2 months age,

the pad conditions are good lots of life left in them but as a added bonus i will chuck in a spare set,

the disks looks in good condition and again loads of life left in it,

I bougth this caliper over 12 years ago, its had a hard life, it was in full working order when i took it of the bike but that was over 2 years ago,

So i would suggest ethr this was used for spares or with a good servie it could be made good,

O4 caliper is a bargain - will take it if it'll make up a pair with my front one.

What other number does it have engraved on it?

Sorry not sure if i put it in the origina post its a front 04 caliper,

no it has no other numbers on it

04 means it's a DH4 4 pot caliper.

They were made with interchangeable halves dependant on what size rotor and what standard fittings you had. Each half is designated with a number - for example, a 3 half is for 185mm front or 160mm rear IS. Further down on the protruding extended part below the calipers, there should be engraved a number.

What size rotor did you run up front?

From the photo it looks like it may well be a 3.

Christ you learn somthing new every day,

I ran a 185mmm disk

Yeah,thats a 3 alright
If you fit it on the rear the No3 was for a 165mm rotor, standard nowadays, and +20/+40mm adaptors are easy to come by

Excellent news for Mr Dbmtb 8)
