Just got a pair of wheels which I reckon is a ebay bargain :D any way they have hope hubs and I was wondering how you identify the Ti versions? Long shot they are Ti, not advertised as such but don't really know too much about them. Any help on Hope hubs appreciated.

The hope hubs bitd had ano flanges and a ti middle. I thought they only made ti hubs. Only the modern hubs aren't ti??

  I haven't a clue either but the centres did look Ti, I guess the reason for asking is that you sometimes see Hope ti hubs and Hope hubs advertised. I thought there was a difference. 8)

I may well be wrong but the good 'ol' ti that I remember was replaced by the mono which was all alloy now replaced by the lighter pro 3 The first ti had a ti free hub inners. But problems so changed the design to alloy. I had one of the early ti and the noise was even lounder then the later versions. I had no problems as I was only then 9 an half stone back then :(

Quite right the Hope hubs - both front and rear - had ti tubes between the flanges. The Ti Glide rear hub had a Ti cassette carrier. The alternative was steel. Both were available but I have no idea how you tell them apart once they have left the shop.

They also made solid alu hubs (out of 2014 T6 ((HE15)) way back.... they were made from a single billet with pressed sealed bearings.

They most certainly were Ti BITD, and the best looking hubs ever in my view, if only they would bring them back....

I have an adiction for all things Ti, I have a fisher space pen because it's.... and a TI keyring, my Mac and screen also have that look of shot blasted Ti...

I have even had a polished Ibis stem in '94..

This one's easy.

If the middle bit is a different colour to the flanges, even if it's a different shade of "metal" - then it's Ti.

If it's all the same colour, then it's not.

There was steel axle tandem version - it's not that you are thinking of by any chance?
