Hope Hubs

If you do see a crack at what point do you stop riding? Immediately or do you milk it for a few more rides and monitor the crack?

these hubs are known to crack at the flange right?.. this is probably due to over tensioned spokes...
Other than the few spoke hole areas being cracked, the main 'cracks' are hairline cracks propagating from the inner edge where it is bonded to the Ti tube. OFten opposite or close to opposite each other. I also noticed it tends to be (i.e. afaik always) on the ones where the Alu has a mottling on it, streaks running in line of the cracking. where the Alu is not like that, they don't seem to have the problem. Of course just my experience personally and of pictures I've seen.)

Here is a picture of both on a lightweight. I don't know if the hairline causes the spoke are failure (not seen on close up) or if they are not related.

If you have cracked hope hubs get in touch with Hope. I've heard of them replacing old hubs with multiple owners.
