Good evening all, so I have another 1997 Orange X1 frame which has a Hope Disc Brake adapter fitted to it. Sadly the bleed valve is sheared so I’m not sure I can extract it. But I was after some info on it. What hub is compatible with it? Normal 26” disc wheels don’t fit. I would love to make an X1with disc brakes. Anyone have any knowledge, or a hope adaptor or compatible hub.

Many thanks, Jussa.

It’s a Hope #2 155 disk for a short axle hub.

The rear hub is a short 110 and the caliper takes up the remaining space. Hope did this with most of their hubs, Ti Glide, Bulb and Big Un

I have somewhere a Ti Glide rear and a set of Bulbs (might sell these to be fair I’ve had them for years with no project to build into) which fit this style - there are plenty pics on the interwebs.

You can buy a standard 135 and try to find an axle and swap it out to make it a short set up and the bleed nipple should be a fairly easy job for any engineering shops or using an easy out bit - they bleed nipples we’re like cheese in that era
