Now I always thought that this was the extent of the original iteration of the XTR M900 groupset:

And I was aware of the addition of a bottom bracket cable guide (SM-SP17) when the M910 groupset appeared for 1995, plus the various parts changes that came with the groupset before M950 changed it all;

But today I happened upon this part that I’ve never seen before, referenced or otherwise…the XTR M900 dork disc ‘CP-M900’!:

My life is complete. What’s next? 😂
 
That’s pretty amazing (and hilarious).

I remember seeing a photo of some XTR thumbshifters. They were nicely shaped and finished in M900 ‘titanium’. This was in the early 90s before photoshop.
Of course no one believes they ever existed in any form, but apparently I’m not the only one to have seen them. Fellow member Doug had a close encounter:

It's a top flight oxymoron though isn't it. For the 1995 moneybags customer who wants the best of everything but hasn't a clue.

I have to say though, as well as the DD I did not realise that there were XTR M910 hubs, so that's been an edoocayshun
