Picked this Holdsworth Cyclone up amongst a job lot of old retro bikes (I know lucky me right :D ). They'll all be up for sale at some point but this Holdsworth is a keeper so I want more info on it as I'm not great on pre 80's bikes in all honesty.

Online research tells me it's a Cyclone due to the lug shape however the headbadge appears to be wrong as the others say 'Cyclone' and the fork crown isn't as fancy as some of the others. I do note that there was a Cyclone Deluxe, perhaps mine is the non deluxe version?

Just think of the time spent on that frame, work of art really :)

Interesting chrome track forks on the first pic, neat track rear triangle on another and a fastback rear seat cluster.........looks more my era LOL

Re:

Ha mine too Shaun :)

There are no chrome track forks though. The track ends belong to a Chas Roberts and the fastback stays to a Cottingham. Which I'll start a thread about in due course.

However it's the Cyclone that I intend to keep ;)

those lugs are glorious and as Shaun said just think of the man hours it took , you could knock 3 or 4 modern bikes out in the time to do 1 lug

Tel, what's the number of the frame? I've got holdsworth and I though it could have been a cyclone but it's different from this .
Also, I've caught the retro bug and looking for number 2 already, where do you get a job lot of bikes like this?

i love those lugs i reckon they would look great painted gold .
or even bronz .i like the head badge too.
