Hinault Look 753

i emailed him and told him it was a total turkey, never mind a "la vie claire team frame"!!

funnily enough, i've not had a reply . . .

the blurb is hilarious and note the lack of commitment to the supposed "genuine" nature of this banger . .

"
An incredible bit of cycling and Tour De France history crafted on some of the finest tubes ever made! period... - even by modern standards this is a truly AMAZING frame and opportunity!
Perfect mechanical condition! - cosmetic, very good for age SEE ALL IMAGES! paint has a nice life to it and shines like is pearl but is worn in several places but can be easily retouched and finished to a collectors condition. some scratches but NO dents or dings that I can see! Decals are in a very good way including 753 ones on the rear triangle and tube 753 ones .. all nice and bright not faded...I think all original decals are on the frame and in tact! "

fair do's to the chap:

"Hi there,

Thanks for the info appreciated!..

Sorry miscommunication on my part and I've updated the description to reflect that. I naturally assumed people would see this is a factory replicate rather then a frame used in the tour or by Mr BH...

It is certainly a real 753 frame and these look BH decals are defiantly real and factor applied! weight, campy group set that was on it etc support that... was a 70's group..

The date I said was probably wrong so I removed that... that came from the seller but he didn't know much about the frame anyway so I just took his word on it..

Certainly don't want to mislead people so thanks for your help!

Best,

BAE"

I just got a long and windy email back from him when I emailed a picture of an original team replica. It was a bit sad - he clearly knows very little about bikes and has googled mostly everything in his ad, but is very quick to condemn 'Internet experts'.

You've got to laugh.

i guess you can stick any old crap on any old frame so i wouldn't say that dates it.

i'm not sure about this at all. you remember when peugeot brought out "team" frames in 531Pro and 753R - the quality was basic to say the least and the bb shell, lugs and dropouts weren't campag by a longggg shot! perhaps this frame, as dodgy looking as it is, was an equivalent of the LVC frame on the french market back then. i've never seen one or even the real article in the flesh so can't say with certainty.

what is certain that this frame, whether genuine or not, is worth . .

sorry, i couldn't resist.

it's actually worth around £4.99 as originally stated!!

It should really have FAKE in big letters next to the decals.

Look would never stoop so low as to make a fundamentally shit frame like this.

Its likely the guy has bought this on holiday from a snake oil salesman at a Paris flea market and half believed the hype.

The rest is just a pack of lies and fraudulent mis-selling, and thats being kind!
