HIGH FLANGED HUBS
Don't ask me why but about a year ago, I got bitten by the high flange bug ( after having been bitten by the vintage roadie)
so I started gathering some
Here are my finds
FRENCH
LEOPARD - lower range stuff but amusing name - pretty rare in France, they obviously never had much success
Unknown ( with a Pinarello skewer ?!) - Possibly foreign but with round holes which is rarer than the ubiquitous "kidney" shaped hole
EOLIA - pretty rare french and one of the first sealed bearings one
NORMANDY - ubiquitous mid range french one on most of the mid range wheels and machines
NORMANDY round holes - much rarer and possibly earlier
NORMANDY LUXE COMPETITION - a bit more conspicious with the red stickers and red side "plastic covers"
MAILLARD 700 - going up the range
HURET ALPIN High Flange - actually Alpin rebadged Huret - lovely as very airy - but not forged in one piece so not very reliable
PELISSIER 2000 Professionnel - the top of french sealed bearings hubs
ROVAL - Not full high flanged ones but they are so beautiful, I can't skip them
FOREIGN
Sunshine ( possibly US )
SHIMANO DURA ACE ( need to replace skewer as these are later)
CAMPAGNOLO NUOVO TIPO
CAMPAGNOLO NUOVO RECORD - a Pair plus one earlier without record engraved
Need to add some MAXI CAR ( but on built wheels ) later
Prior or other “swiss cheese slicers” are unfortunately out of my reach ! :?
