Unbelievable this hasn't received more high profile coverage! Truly. It is as though cyclists are dispensable inconveniences.

Exactly. We are dispensable in all ways. Amazing given the current promotion of cycling by the political class..

Things likely won't change, unless/until all road bikers unite into a collective political body and demand action/change. Or perhaps, better equip eacg cyclist with some fabulously florescent (yet water soluble) paint bombs with which to mark and temporarily publicly shame the offending driver (or his/her vehicle) ...
But then, the claims of assault would quickly arise, even though the bicyclists end up with broken bones and sometimes permanent disabilities.
