Great to see that. Scenes there of Sean preparing for his farewell in Carrick on Suir in late 1994. Couldn't be there myself but my friend went, open to all. Over 1000 took part, Merckx, Hinault, Fignon, Roche and other friends made over his career also rode. It incorporated the annual Hamper Race which took place every December, when Sean returned home for the winter.
They huge bunch did a few laps of a circuit, before more serious business got under way. No surprise that the King himself won the gallop for the line. Great days.
