Here we go...Storm Adroit-93 NOS

STORM

HAllo

I am sure that the BACKFIRE was not sold. Still waiting for a feedback from both sides.

I remember a STORM frameset in the same condition a few years ago.

It went for 1230 USD to a guy in CANADA, his name was huskymotard and also some with DUCATI or so, or DUCATIMONSTER. I also know that CARSTEN knows the frame i am talking about.

I know a guy from NEW YORK, who bought this frame , also without bearings without seals and without fork.

Maybe its the same, but i am not sure,

But i think its impossible to buy this frame for a fair price.

I would have to battle with allbuykleinadroit, the guy with 15 points, who never pays, who only would like to have.

The other guy with 63 point has the same frame at home(bentr123).

Why should we bid- it makes no sense.

Have a nice day

All that detail is WAY too fussy for a bike frame.

and apologies in advance to all those who own one ; but they look like crap.

First thing I'd want to do to that if it was mine is give it a good re-spray!

To me, the best part of the paintjob, the fork, is missing, so it's rather incomplete. I've gotten a picture from the guy of the dropouts and indeed, there are no wheel clamping marks in the paint but I have my suspicions on this one.

I have no doubts it's a nice frame but not quite sure it's NOS. Do you really remove the fork/bearings and bb/bearings on a NOS frame that has never had wheels clamped in the dropouts? Me thinks not. I suspect this is a respray. I'm not certain, but certain enough that I wouldn't bid on it.

you could tell if it is a repainted used frame if you had it in hand and this one doesnt look like one. i agree that it is a bit odd that a bare frame left the factory but it may have been meant for a custom build with a specific suspension fork. it's not the only one around (i had one in hands a few years ago just like this one - but not this one - and it clearly was not a repaint) and e.g. leucadia cycles still have a bunch of newer bare adroit frames for sale.

i wonder if those who dont like the paint have ever seen one in person?

Not neccesarily. I had a frame that had over four years of very hard and heavy usage on it. There was no chainsuck on it but pre-respray, it had lots of dings in the paint but no metal damage. After the picking it out of the box, you absolutely could not tell it from a new frame. No way, no how.

Bottom line is that I don't know. Now my theory is that this is an Attitude that the guy drilled holes in the dropouts...

I've e-mailed and spoken on the phone with the seller of this frameset. He told me at the time when he wasn't selling these yet that he bought 6 Gator Attitudes and Adroits + this Storm frame right from Klein through his LBS for a very good price. It seems that they were factory surplus that Trek wanted to get rid of.

I have not asked why there's no BB, headset, etc. but he said that he has had the frame on his wall and his closet all this time.

The guy is very trustworthy and hardcore Klein fan so I don't this he's cheating anything here.

Just my .02

I have no doubt that the quality of the work is up there with the best, but I don't need to have seen one to see that the design is way too fussy for my taste.

I'm just amazed how many people do like them, it just looks a mess to me, and I wonder if the name on the frame has anything to do with the popularity. :?

I reckon if you put a similar paint job on a cheap frame everyone would agree it was crap. :D

P.S. I have seen one by the way....oh and it would be a boring old world if we all liked the same stuff.
