Hercules Indiana E-Stay

Wow! Very nice! I wish I had one, only smaller..........nope, smaller.............keep going..............yeah, small (17.5").
(It's that extra .5 that keeps people from patting me on the head and asking me if I've lost my mommy).

I wonder could you cut the weight down by replacing components? I've got a few bikes that are downright boat anchors, even though some of them have the best paint jobs around, but hey! They're e-stays, so it's alright!

Dang! I hate being late to the party. I didn't see this until now. @NorthOfHere Thanks for the heads-up.

Nishiki Ariel?

E-Stay enthusiast? Yes.
E-Stay specialist? Definitely NO, not for now, although anything's possible. I may get there someday when f I ever grow up. 🤪

Reminds me a bit of a redline 55

York Cycleworks had them but sold as the cycleworks kestrel

E-stays are cool wall stuff

To me, yes the Redline seem to have something in common with the Nishik, also with that gusset on the down tube. But both differ a bit from the Hercules.

BTW: The Redline 45 is identical to the Anlen Sabel

and had tires and parts identical to Gary Fisher bikes produced 1991 at Anlen.
Especially that gusset at the Nishiki looks suspicious, maybe it run from same assembly line at Anlen?

Anyway, just wanted to provide a link of a very nice and colorful build also based on the Hercules Indiana

Stem and headset were pretty rusted in but I managed to get them out. Seatpost is so far inside the seat tube that I'm thinking seatpost man- ££😢

Despite stuck components bike looks to not have had much use- chainrings are good to go and not much rim wear.

I'm thinking about pink cable outers... what say yee?

This estay design has the downtube that goes into the seat tube rather than meeting the bottom bracket. Down tube and chain stays almost make a straight line from head tube to the rear hub. Some designs have a standard down tube which the chain stays meet- many ways to skin a cat! I like the straight lines on this.
