Can this rear wheel be salvaged?

I have a spare Front wheel if maybe any parts could be used?

I know there is a 35mms difference,but who knows.

Asking you guys as you all are alot more knowledgeable than myself

Looks like the axle has snapped, bearings have fallen out, what are my options?.

Or is the rear axle a two piece similar to rev x wheels with titanium axles?

I'm lost literally, well out of my depth.

Any help and advice greatly appreciated.

Re:

Ive no experience with these wheels but did a bit of online research and the only advice I could find on rear axle replacements was to have one made.

One thread suggested you could replace the freehub with an m750 xt or 105 version. I wonder if you could use an axle from the same hub as the donor freehub?

They are cup/come bearings right? What does the rest of the axle look like? I know when you step into the realms of sealed bearings things get a bit proprietary but cup and come are generally threaded and straight.

Hopefully someone will come along with the knowledge and solution you need.

Thanks Ian.

There is a pic of the rest of the axle included.

I also read you can simply use a Shimano freehub on these wheels, and perhaps the axle might work.

I believe they are pressfit bearings on the nds and ones in headset( style) for driveside. (Excuse my lack of terminology/knowledge).

Somebody suggested Danson67 could make one for me, he's good at this kind of thing.

Thanks Ian for your input.
Appreciated

Re:

Danson67 is very handy at this kind of thing and more. Worth an ask. You might be able to use an axle from a suntour xc Pro hub. They had press fit bearings one end and loose bearings on the freehub side?

I just spoke to Gary at ga cycles in Southampton, been ringing for days finally got through today.

Going to email him photos of the rear axle and he said he will dig through his box of treasure lol.

Progress...

Re:

Does he also do other spinergy parts? I'm after some yellow replacement pbo spokes for some wheels.

Hi Ian and Magpie,

If you don't have any luck with GA Cycles, I'll have a look at what might be done.
I have a set of these myself, so can use them as reference.
Mine certainly just use a standard Shimano pattern freehub body, nothing weird.

Ian:
What length yellow SPOX spokes are you after?
I have a some spares, and a yellow rear 24 spoke rear with a burst rim.
Also, the guys at my old company still have plenty of spares that are still used on the Spinergy SPOX wheelchair wheels.

All the best,

Re:

Hi Dan, thanks for chipping in. Spoke wise, my wheels are xyclone, not spot. Not sure of the length but I'll measure up and let you know.

How strange, I pm you, then check my flagged posts and voila, you have commented.

That's great,Thankyou, I'm struggling to find anything. I spoke with gacycles, sent two emails and not heard back, maybe there's my answer.

I think I need a replacement axle, and a new freehub put on. But there again I'm no expert( far,far from it if I'm honest).

Thanks mate

Pete
